Our Pottery Instructors

We have an unbelievable group of instructors that volunteer their time to teach you how to Create! It's because of the generosity of these instructors and our financial donors that pottery is free at the Art Room.

Our Clay Method

Clay can easily be recycled - therefore it is a highly sustainable resource. This allows us to let you learn pottery for free: we recycle the clay, you throw it on a potter's wheel, and then we recycle it again for the next person. Use as much clay as you want because it never goes to waste.

We encourage you to enjoy the process instead of worrying about the result. This means throwing a pot on the wheel and then smashing it back into a ball. Learn the process, understand the techniques, then consider trimming, firing, and glazing.
